Catherine Zeta Jones' Daughter Carys Shines in 20-Year-Old LBD

A Timeless Classic: The Little Black Dress That Never Goes Out of Style

The little black dress (LBD) has long been a staple in every woman's wardrobe, and it seems that this iconic piece of clothing is here to stay. This was clearly evident when Carys Zeta-Jones, daughter of the legendary Catherine Zeta-Jones, chose her mother’s vintage LBD for a glamorous night out.

Carys attended the PAC NYC Icons Of Culture Gala at the Perelman Performing Arts Center alongside her father, Michael Douglas, who is 81 years old. She made a stunning impression, looking like a rising star in the world of fashion.

The 22-year-old wore a fitted black dress that ended just above the ankle. It featured sparkling details on the bodice, delicate lacy straps, and a subtle ruffling on the hem. Her choice of accessories included black heels and red gem earrings, completing the elegant look.

Carys recently graduated from Brown University with a degree in International and Public Affairs. She has always had an eye for style, and her choice of outfit for the gala was no exception. The dress she wore was not just a fashion statement but also a nod to her mother’s past. Catherine Zeta-Jones had worn the same dress in 2005, two years after Carys was born, at the 20th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

At that time, Catherine paired the LBD with open-toe heels that had lacy detailing around the ankle, which complemented the dress’s straps. Photos from the event show her looking fabulous while posing for pictures with Bono, the lead singer of U2, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that night.

When speaking to People about borrowing her mother’s clothes, Carys shared her love for vintage fashion. She said, “I love vintage clothes. I don’t really like to buy, I’m not really into fast fashion stuff, just for sustainability reasons. So I feel very lucky that I have a wonderful closet that I can pick from, but I should probably tell her more, because I snag a little too much. She’s like, 'Is that my bag?' I’m like, 'I don’t know. I don’t think so.'"

In addition to her love for vintage fashion, Carys also discussed her future plans after graduation. She expressed her desire to follow in the footsteps of her parents and get into the performing arts. She said, “I grew up doing theatre, and I didn’t study acting in school, but that’s why I’m happy to be in such an informative arts space, so hopefully more of that.”
