Owen Wilson, the 56-year-old actor known for his role in The Wedding Crashers, was recently seen supporting his two sons at a soccer match in Los Angeles. This event took place as reports continue to circulate about his alleged estrangement from his daughter.

During the game, which featured the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) against Austin FC, Wilson appeared to be in high spirits, cheering alongside his sons Ford, 14, and Finn, 11. The trio wore matching jerseys, showing their team spirit as they watched the match.

Wilson shares his eldest son, Ford, with his ex-girlfriend Jade Duell. Ford was named after Wilson’s late father and is often referred to simply by that name. His younger son, Finn, comes from his relationship with personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist.

In addition to his two sons, Wilson has a daughter named Lyla, who was born in 2018 to his former partner Varunie Vongsvirates. However, there have been persistent claims that Wilson has not been involved in Lyla’s life. In 2019, Vongsvirates told the Daily Mail that she had "begged" Wilson to be part of their daughter’s life, but he had "never" even met her.

Despite these allegations, Wilson has been seen spending time with his sons at LAFC games. The actor and his sons were previously spotted together in July 2024, highlighting their strong bond. While Wilson keeps his family life mostly private, he has shared some insights into his parenting experiences.

Earlier this year, Wilson opened up about bonding with his sons over golf. He admitted that while he found it challenging to connect with them through sports like soccer or football, golf presented a different kind of difficulty. "Golf does not come easily," he said in an interview with People. To overcome this, he has been sneaking in lessons during casual trips to Topgolf, where both of his sons enjoy the experience.

"Ford really does have a good swing," Wilson noted, adding that Finn has a natural talent for the sport. "His grandfather was actually apparently the town champion in Sweden where he lives, so he’s got it in him." Wilson expressed hope that one day, the family could all meet in Ireland to play golf together.

In June, Wilson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shared a lighthearted update about Finn, who has shown interest in unconventional career ideas. "My youngest, first he wanted to be a DJ, and then he said he wanted to open a prank shop. He even had the name of the prank shop: Wilson’s Wizzbangs. You know, he had the gun where you grab it and it could give you a little shock," Wilson recalled.

In a 2021 interview with Esquire, Wilson spoke about how much he enjoyed storytelling with his two sons. "Sometimes telling the stories at night, you do take a little pride that these guys are into this story!" he said. One of his sons even suggested that he should do something with the story, calling it "a really good story."

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote his 2017 film Cars 3, Wilson shared his thoughts on parenting his first two children. He described how much little Finn idolizes his older brother, Ford. "It's unbelievable. I mean, anything Ford says is just, like, the funniest thing ever, and I can make and joke and it's, like, crickets. It's like nothing from those guys."

Wilson also mentioned that he could already see how his sons would behave as teenagers. "I'm already sort of seeing how they're gonna be as teenagers, where they're gonna be sort of be ganging up on me."

While Wilson appears fully invested in the lives of Ford and Finn, he has faced criticism for being absent from Lyla’s life. In 2018, a source told Us Weekly that Wilson "refuses to meet his daughter" and had checked the "no visitation box" in court.

Lyla was described as looking very similar to her father. "The baby looks just like Owen," a source said. Vongsvirates last posted on Instagram on October 9, 2022, celebrating Lyla’s birthday with a sweet photo of the mother-daughter duo.

When she spoke with the Daily Mail in 2019, Vongsvirates emphasized that while Wilson helps financially, it was never about money. She added, "Lyla needs a father. It’s ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter."

Vongsvirates also shared a message for her ex, saying, "You should see your daughter, she's incredible, you're really missing out. She looks just like you."

Wilson and Vongsvirates were romantically linked on and off for about five years before going their separate ways. In 2018, a paternity test confirmed that Wilson was indeed Lyla’s biological father.
