Hollywood Producer David Pearce Sentenced to 150 Years in Prison

David Pearce, a 42-year-old Hollywood producer, has been sentenced to a total of 146 years in prison for the crimes of rape and murder. His sentence will last until the year 2171. He was found guilty of killing two women and sexually assaulting seven others. The sentencing took place on October 29.

Pearce was convicted for the deaths of Christy Giles, a 24-year-old model and aspiring actress, and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, a 26-year-old woman. Both women died from fatal drug overdoses on November 13, 2021. It was reported that Pearce administered drugs such as fentanyl and GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) to the women at his Beverly Hills home after they met at a warehouse party earlier that night. Their bodies were later left outside Los Angeles hospitals by masked individuals.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office detailed the events that transpired on that night. Thirty-five minutes after arriving at Pearce’s apartment, Cabrales-Arzola attempted to leave using a rideshare service. However, she did not leave until 11 hours later when Pearce carried Giles out of the apartment. An hour and a half later, Cabrales-Arzola was also carried out. Pearce then dropped the victims off at two different local hospitals, where Giles was found dead upon arrival.

On November 25, 2024, the campaign "This Is Not Right" was launched. This is a year-long initiative aimed at addressing the ongoing epidemic of violence against women. With the support of Women's Aid, the campaign seeks to highlight the severity of this national crisis. Cabrales-Arzola was revived and survived for 11 days before passing away, just one day short of her 27th birthday. Prosecutors during the trial argued that there was no logical explanation for Pearce's DNA being found on the two women, including under Cabrales-Arzola’s fingernails, unless they had been drugged and sexually assaulted.

Pearce was involved in numerous drug-facilitated sexual assaults between 2005 and 2021, as revealed in court. The charges included three counts of forcible rape, two counts of sexual penetration through force, and one count each of rape of an unconscious person and sodomy by use of force. All seven victims testified about Pearce’s “sexual depravity and violent tendencies,” according to the DA’s report.

Pearce was found guilty of these crimes in February and received additional sentences for other sexual offenses. Judge Eleanor Hunter imposed the maximum of 25 years to life for each murder, along with further sentences for rape. His IMDb acting credits are limited to 2006 and 2007, including films like Tooth and Nail, The Valley of Tears, American Experience, and Aida I Saw You Dead Last Night. Some reports suggest that he was not a legitimate producer but rather a club promoter who used his sparse credits to pose as someone in the entertainment industry.
