Star of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air dies at 42 after heart attack at home
Remembering Floyd Roger Myers Jr.: A Life of Talent and Purpose
Floyd Roger Myers Jr., best known for his role as a young Will Smith on the iconic television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has passed away at the age of 42. His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ, sharing details about the cause of his death.
According to Renee, Floyd died in the early hours of Wednesday after suffering a heart attack at his home in Maryland. This was not his first such incident—she revealed that he had experienced three prior heart attacks over the past three years. She also mentioned that she had spoken to her son the night before his sudden passing, adding to the sense of loss felt by those who knew him.
Floyd’s acting career began with a small but memorable role as a young Will Smith in a 1992 episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. His performance on the show helped launch his career, and he later appeared as Marlon Jackson in two episodes of The Jacksons: An American Dream that same year.
In 2000, Floyd made another appearance as a student in an episode of Young Americans. Although his professional acting career seemed to slow down after that, he remained active in other ways. According to his Instagram bio, he was one of the co-founders of the Fellaship Mens Group, a nonprofit organization aimed at addressing the emotional and mental health challenges faced by men.
The mission of Fellaship is to create safe and judgment-free spaces where men can be seen, heard, and supported. Floyd often shared updates about the program and its events on his social media, showing his dedication to the cause. He also owned a business called Dr. Duct, which specialized in air duct and dryer vent cleaning.
Floyd was also a devoted father to four children, whom he often shared photos of on his Instagram page. In 2023, he posted a picture of himself with his family and wrote, “A lot has changed yet so much has remained the same!!! Family Over Everything!! -MyersGang.”
He was open about his health struggles, revealing in 2023 that he had been in a coma. In a post featuring a photo of himself in a hospital bed, he wrote, “Just a week ago I was in a coma fighting for my life!! The way my GOD work though. I'm beyond blessed and grateful to be alive !!” His words reflected both his resilience and his deep faith.

Floyd’s life was marked by his contributions to entertainment, his commitment to helping others, and his love for his family. While his time on screen may have been brief, his impact on those who knew him will not be forgotten.
